Space Station Transit

Space Station Transit

If you are standing in exactly the right spot, you can sometimes see a satellite pass in front of the sun. Thierry Legault travels to those spots, and takes pictures of the event when a large satellite is involved. He has to be very fast and accurate because the whole thing lasts for just half a second! In this image, he captured a high-resolution view of the International Space Station with the space shuttle Atlantis docked to it.
