Tycho

Tycho

The bright rays originating from craters darken over time. Tycho's ray system is still bright, so it must be one of the newest large craters. It is 85 kilometers wide, and five kilometers deep. It must have made a spectacular explosion when the meteor hit! The next two images zoom in on the floor of this crater.
