Melted Rock Flow

Melted Rock Flow

The creation of Tycho crater melted a lot of the surface rock. The molten material covered the floor of the crater, then hardened into smooth, glassy rock. This image shows how some of the material flowed for hundreds of meters before solidifying. The arrows show the direction of the flow.
