Blue Marble

Earth sits at just the right distance from the sun for water to be in liquid form. This may not be a requirement for life, but any life we would easily recognize would need these conditions. Planet hunters are in a race to find another Earth-sized planet at the proper distance from its sun. There is a good chance that more than one will be found and confirmed before the end of 2011.
