The vast Virgo Cluster of galaxies is the nearest cluster to our own at about 50 million light years, and contains this chain of galaxies. Many members of the cluster are visible in even small amateur telescopes (four inches in diameter). A larger telescope (about 16 inches) will give you a view like this.
