Exploring Glass Mountain

Exploring Glass Mountain

These lava flows were rich in silica. When the lava hardened quickly, it created obsidian. When it hardened more slowly, it created pumice. A lot of it is sharp, but paths have been worn through the rubble making it safe to explore. It squeaks and tinkles as you walk on it.
