Sunspot Group

Sunspot Group

Sunspots are cooler and slightly darker areas of the sun. When the sun is dimmed by a filtered telescope, the sunspots dim all the way to black before the rest of the sun gets too dark to see. This sunspot group was large enough to see with the unaided eye! Of course you still needed a strong filter to look at it safely.
