Calcium and Hydrogen each glow with a few characteristic colors. This image is a combination of just those colors. That made it possible to pick out some structures that would not be visible otherwise. This image is 175,000 kilometers on a side, and the sunspot in the corner is as large as Earth. Even at that size, the image only covers two percent of the sun's visible surface!
